Saudia Cargo launches two new terminal projects

These projects will be done in several phases, the last phase will be fully completed by January 2022.

JEDDAHSaudia Cargo celebrated the launch of its new terminals project for King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh on Monday under the patronage of Dr. Nabil Al-Amoudi, Minister of Transport.

The two massive projects will become distinguished achievements for Saudia Cargo's 2020 transformation strategy.

These projects will be done in several phases, the last phase will be fully completed by January 2022.

After this accomplishment, Saudia Cargo will double their current cargo facilities and improve their capabilities in supporting Saudi Vision 2030 that aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub.

The launching ceremony was attended by Dr. Nabil Al-Amoudi, Abdulhakim Al-Tamimi, President of GACA, alongside many distinguished dignitaries and media representatives.

Engineer Saleh Al Jasser,Saudia Airlines Director General,, told Saudi Gazette: “The strategy of Saudia Airlines gets in line with the strategy of Saudi Arabia 2030 through achieving a great renaissance in the air transport sector and all the sectors related to Saudia Airlines, our main job is the development of the aviation industry.”

When asked about job opportunities for Saudis at Saudia Cargo, the CEO of the firm Omar Hariri noted: “This project will enhance the chances with Saudi youth to join our company, also now we are on a partnership with the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation (SACA) which will produce more qualified Saudis to enter the cargo industry.”

Hariri added: “Now we are in discussions with SkyTeam to enter SkyTeam alliance, hopefully by the first of January 2019 we will be part of the Sky Team alliance.”

When Saudia Cargo joins SkyTeam, it will increase its services and develop its capabilities and expand its network, which will benefit the Saudi Economy.
