Orascom Construction to build Magdi Yacoub Center in Cairo

Egypt - Orascom Construction (ORAS) was selected by the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation to build the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in 6th of October City, Egypt, according to the company’s statement on March 2nd.

Spread over an area of 37 acres, the new center will feature 300 beds, making it the largest healthcare facility in the region for cardiac care, treatment and research.

The center, which was designed by Lord Foster and Dar El Handassah, is expected to have an annual capacity of 120,000 patients.

This landmark project elevates the health and wellbeing landscape in Egypt, and adds to Orascom Construction’s vast portfolio of healthcare projects, entailing the building and refurbishing of several hospitals and medical centers throughout Egypt.

Orascom Construction, formerly known as Orascom Construction Ltd, is a UAE-based engineering and construction contractor.
