MANAMA: First Bahrain has announced its upcoming open-plan mall in Seef District will be named El Balcón and continue the Spanish theme it began with El Mercado in Janabiya.
The new brand identity for the project was unveiled yesterday during the Gulf Property Show at The Avenues, Bahrain.
The new identity, translates to ‘The Balcony’, describes the mall as an outdoor space with balconies and terraces; a place which will facilitate both community and commerce.
First Bahrain chief executive Omar Al Temiemy said, “We are working hard towards project completion during Q1 2020 and an official opening later in the year. We are actively discussing lease agreements with tenants as we work towards delivering a quality mix of goods and services which will meet the needs of the local community.”
El Balcón will be an open-air mall located across from City Centre Bahrain.
With its landscaped courtyards, outdoor seating, water features, and a variety of restaurants, cafes and services, it is being positioned as “the perfect spot for families and friends to relax, shop and dine”.
The mall will have parking space for 116 cars adjacent to unit entrances, supporting quick entry and exit.
“While the focus has been on securing the anchor tenants first, the leasing process is now being expanded to include individual shops,” said First Bahrain’s head of business development Khalid Shaheen.
“El Balcón has already received many letters of interest from well-known brands and we will be working to finalise our key tenant relationships in the coming weeks.
The mall will offer 4,111 sqm of leasable area, and a total 38 retail units sized between 38 and 460 sqm each.
