Cairo – The Egyptian Ministry of Housing has invested a total of EGP 4.306 billion in Fayoum Governorate since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi took office in 2014.

These investments have been injected into the establishment of developmental and service projects in the existing cities as well as New Fayoum City, the Minister of Housing, Assem El-Gazzar, said in a statement on Monday.

The total number of residential units built in the governorate reached 6,945 since 2014, EL-Gazzar added.

Work is underway for establishing five water projects and 11 sanitation projects in Fayoum, developing 24 villages, and constructing 25.2 kilometres (km) of roads.

In New Fayoum City, a total of EGP 1.545 billion has been invested, including EGP 340 million in the housing sector, EGP 200 million in the services sector, EGP 280 million in roads, and EGP 725 million in utilities.
