ArabFinance: Egyptian startup (VRapeutic) won first place in Singularity's Global Impact Challenge (GIC) for MENA region. Project is promised to enhance education system with a breakthrough innovation to facilitate learning challenges for intellectually-impaired suffering from autism, attention deficit disorder, cerebral palsy, dyslexia and social anxiety disorder. The winner is granted a scholarship from Singularity University, amounting USD 60 Thousand, to join Global Start-up Program (GSP), put VRapeutic's brilliant invention into viable reality and work on the betterment of billion lives at MENA region throughout the upcoming 10 years.

Singularity's panel of judges described the competition as fierce, where two other contestants, from Egypt & Jordan, followed the winner to the finalists. Proteinea; the second Egyptian contribution among the three GIC's final nominations, promised to serve agriculture sector by introducing an exceptional food & feed resource to secure its growing demand in our developing countries. As for the unconventional Jordanian participation, Martha; the project is set to enrich education sector with advanced means of communication using exponential technology to facilitate connection between healthy and hearing-impaired citizens in the society.

In his speech at the closing ceremony of GIC, Singularity University Ambassador in Egypt, Haider Ghaleb stated:" I have a profound creed that Egypt possesses auspicious youth, renowned for their enlightened minds and dazzling diligences. When embraced with nurturing ecosystem and given due encouragement, they dazzle the world with their groundbreaking innovations and revolutionary ideas. SingularityU grasped that chance and took upon itself establishing Cairo Chapter as a hub rallying ingenious ideas from all over MENA to create sustainable solutions for pressing problems facing the region while ensuring the betterment of the lives of millions in the upcoming years."

Concerning the benchmark strictly applied by SU to submit GIC boot camp participations, Haider declared:" Judges approved contributions providing sustainable solutions for health, education, energy, agriculture and technology sectors, known as HEEAT, in addition to Fintech. Solutions should subject to the usage of exponential technology while giving due respect to financial inclusion." SU ambassador in Egypt added as well:" The panel limited submission to 20 participants to maintain a cutting-edge comprehensive training that provides a better learning opportunity and a hands-on experience over 7 days under the guidance of SU experts and leading pioneers in vital fields from all over the world."

GIC organizers were keen on meticulously choosing a prodigious location for the boot camp and closing ceremony to best serve their exceptional nature. Hence, Technical University of Berlin (TUB) was chosen for its state-of-the-art research laboratories and highly equipped conference halls to launch the boot camp according to the highest global and German quality standards.

Global Impact Challenge initiative came to light by the sincere partnership between FEKRETAK SHERKETAK and Singularity University, pledging to transform Egypt into a fostering hub for brilliant minds and creative ideas, yielding sustainable solutions for pressing obstacles facing MENA region.
