Bahrain - A total of 87 bids for public sector projects were opened yesterday by the Tender Board.

They were submitted for 16 projects and were opened during the Tender Board’s weekly meeting, presided over by its chairman and Housing Minister Bassem Al Hamer.

They include one for the Health Ministry which involves cleaning services at Batelco Health Centre, for which 13 bids were received.

Another for the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry involves the provision of guards for three years at the Bahrain International Investment Park, for which nine bids were received.

Two tenders for the Works Affairs branch of the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry relate to vehicle leasing, for which four bids were received, and to the Tubli water pollution control centre, for which two bids were received.

Another tender for Northern Municipality saw nine bids for the maintenance of soft landscaping at gardens and roads.

One tender for the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) attracted five bids for the outsourcing of work for EWA’s business process section.

Two tenders for the Central Stores Directorate saw five bids to provide steel doors and four bids for a joint kit and termination kit project.

Two tenders were also received for Economic Development Board projects, one involving sound and light services during the 2020 Spring of Culture festival – for which one bid was received – and another to handle entertainment at Gateway Gulf 2020, which received three bids.

One tender involved the outsourcing of manpower at Bapco Retail Company for three years, attracting eight bids.

Another for Tatweer Petroleum involved the supply of a wellhead system, receiving two bids.

There were nine bids to supply and maintain a multifunctional photocopier at Bahrain Airport Company for two years.

Meanwhile, there were six bids to provide comprehensive component pooling support services for A320 aircraft for Gulf Air and five bids for assigning a cargo agent in the UK.

Finally, two bids were received to provide nurses for the Bahrain University Health Centre at its College of Health Sciences. Full details of all tenders opened can be viewed on the Tender Board website at tenderboard.gov.bh.
