MANAMA: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announced that the monthly issue of the Sukuk Al Salam Islamic securities has been oversubscribed by 308 per cent.

Subscriptions worth BD132.38 million were received for the BD43m issue, which carries a maturity of 91 days.

The expected return on the issue, which begins on October 16, 2019 and matures on January 15, 2020, is 2.83pc compared with 2.79pc of the previous issue on September 18.

The Sukuk Al Salam are issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This is issue No 222 (BH0001Q78802) of the short-term Sukuk Al Salam series.
