Eastbound gas flows on the Yamal-Europe pipeline to Poland from Germany and flows of Russian gas via Ukraine both fell on Friday morning, pipeline operator data showed.

Exit flows at the Mallnow metering point on the German border of the Yamal pipeline were 849,565 kilowatt hours (kWh) per hour between 0800 CET and 0900 CET (0700 GMT and 0800 GMT) on Friday, down from levels of more than 1,700,000 kWh/h for most of the previous day.

Nominations, or requests, for Russian gas into Slovakia from Ukraine via the Velke Kapusany border point were at 18.8 million cubic metres (mcm), down from 19.4 mcm the previous day, Ukrainian transmission system data showed.

Russian gas group Gazprom said it expected its natural gas transit via Ukraine at 24.4 mcm on Friday, further declining from 25.1 mcm seen on Thursday.

Gazprom's daily flows had already fallen to 32.6 mcm via the Sudzha metering point on Tuesday and Wednesday, down almost 8% from the previous several days amid weaker demand.

Gas flows via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which crosses the Baltic Sea to Germany from Russia, remained at zero.

The pipeline was shut on Aug. 31 last year for what was supposed to be three days of maintenance but has not reopened, with Moscow blaming the situation on Western sanctions and technical issues.

Russia said it was unable to restart the pipeline, but since then the pipeline has also been damaged by suspected sabotage.
