CAIRO - The Arab League on Monday greeted continuing swap of POWs among the Yemeni parties in line with a consensus plan declared in March.

The league Secretary General Ahmat Abulgheit said in statement that the prisoners' exchange is a positive step to build confidence, could be a factor for extending the truce and boost chances for settling the Yemeni crisis.

He expressed hope that the stakeholders take further steps very soon and lauded Saudi Arabia's efforts for reaching a political settlement for Yemen.

Abulgheit expressed hope that plight of all prisoners would end soon and that the POWs' swap deal would pave the way for improving humanitarian conditions in the stricken country.
