Cairo, Egypt: Zoomcar, the largest car sharing marketplace covering emerging markets today announced they will soon be launching their operations in Egypt. Zoomcar, which dominates the self-drive car rental market in India, has expanded to Middle East and appointed Hany Olama as their country head in Egypt to help scale their business.
As the Vice President & Country Head, Hany Olama will lead Zoomcar’s operations in Egypt. Prior to joining Zoomcar, Hany has held positions in some of the largest companies in the MENA region. He has worked in the Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, Retail, Software Development and Group buying industries with ArabyAds, Carrefour, Raya Electronics, Enlight and Dare’n’Deal respectively.
Hany comes with over a decade’s experience and his expertise in start-up management will prove vital in establishing Zoomcar as the first-to-market car-sharing platform in Egypt.
Commenting on Zoomcar’s international expansion and appointment of new country head Greg Moran, CEO & Co-Founder Zoomcar said, “At Zoomcar, we have always been focused on personal mobility and this is the perfect time for us to expand internationally. Against the backdrop of Covid there are a lot of inherent tailwinds, which is really helping us capture more of the consumer mindset and gain market share. People want to get out and travel, they want to be social again. Egypt has low levels of vehicle ownership but large, upwardly mobile populations and it’s the perfect opportunity for us to leverage because there’s simply no vehicle accessibility and affordability is a huge constraint. We are thrilled to welcome Hany as our new country head in Egypt and look forward to benefiting from his experience of scaling up aggressively and building synergistic partnerships contributing to our growth. Egypt will be a benchmark for us to expand into other countries in MENA.
Hany Olama, Vice President & Country Head Egypt said” I am very excited to be joining Zoomcar at this important stage of its growth. I have always been passionate about helping to build companies that have a positive and long-term societal impact. I look forward to establishing Zoomcar in Egypt and working closely with Greg and the Zoomcar team to further enhance the brand’s market trajectory with my contributions”
