Kuwait - Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced its main sponsorship to the Regional Conference for Communication Difficulties "Makaton" organized by the Kuwaiti Society for the Handicapped under the patronage of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah from 17-19 March.

Zain was keen on being present at the opening ceremony, where Chief Regulatory Officer Faisal Abul received the honoring token from HE the Minister of Social Affairs Hind Al Sabeeh and Makaton (Kuwait and Gulf) Manager Sabika Al Jasser. The company's contribution came in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that caters to the many segments of the society, especially people with special needs. 

The event, organized by the Kuwaiti Society for the Handicapped, was held in the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the Makaton program in Kuwait. The global program is a comprehensive educational suite of workshops and courses that are aimed at parents and institutions that cater to people with communication difficulties of all forms. Zain is keen to contribute to the success of such programs that cater to the further development of the special needs sector.

The conference witnessed the presence of many specialists in the field of communication difficulties who took part in discussions regarding the latest developments of the Makaton program. In addition, a number of specialized workshops were held to equip parents and educational institutions with the needed tools to ease the communication process with people with special needs.

Zain's solid Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability strategies primarily focus on the wellbeing of the entire nation. For this reason, the company have maintained its support of numerous initiatives that spread awareness and help make a difference to people's everyday lives.

It is worth noting that Zain's CSR strategy contains an array of initiatives and programs that cater to people with special needs. The company participates in the annual International Day of People with Disability, and recently concluded its sponsorship of the Journey of Hope, which aimed at shedding light on people with special needs.
