Commenting on the report, Steve Harrison British Airways' Area Manager for the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia said, "World Traveller Plus is becoming a popular alternative with business and holiday travellers. More than 20,000 passengers flew World Traveller Plus from the GCC between April 2004 and January 2005, an increase of 33 per cent on previous figures."
"In January alone this year we had over 2000 passengers that flew World Traveller Plus," added Harrison.
World Traveller Plus is a dedicated cabin offering up to 40 seats in five rows of 2-4-2 seat configuration. German-based racing car seat designer Recaro has built wider seats giving greater legroom, 38 inches compared to 31 inches in the economy cabin, World Traveller in British Airways.
Other comforts of World Traveller Plus include adjustable headrest, foot rest and lumbar support. It also has in-seat power and telephones giving passengers the opportunity to work. There is also a double hand baggage allowance and the opportunity to earn extra Executive Club BA Miles and Tier Points.
For families there is excellent in-flight entertainment with Disney and Cartoon Network and the latest blockbuster movies. British Airways also has SkyflyerBravo and SkyflyerAlpha the two galactic heroes developed for kids' in-flight amusement. Skyflyer packs are given to children between the ages of 3 and 6 and for 6 to 12 year olds are given backpacks with toys and electronic games.
"World Traveller Plus is an excellent choice for British Airways passengers with 44 flights per week from the GCC to London Heathrow. This gives passengers a convenient and comfortable way of travelling long haul and to arrive in better shape to do business or start their holidays," added Harrison.
