exclusive branded furniture schemes from celebrity designers
Dubai, 15th May 2007 - Global design group Luxe Interior will launch their world first interior solutions concept in Dubai in June 2007. This new retailer brings together internationally renowned designers to create a range of branded furniture packages and signature interior designs for developers, hoteliers, investors and consumers.
The exclusive range includes original designs and luxurious interior products from celebrity designers Conran & Partners, Tom Dixon, Celia Birtwell, Orla Kiely and Sedley Place, as well as Luxe Interior own brand schemes; giving a new level of luxury and lifestyle at affordable prices.
"Initially focusing on Dubai and the Middle East, we are thrilled to be offering this service for the first time anywhere in the world. Dubai is a truly global and cosmopolitan city and we believe developers, hoteliers, investors and consumers have previously been limited in their local retail choice of world-class interiors," says Mr David Rees, Managing Director of Luxe Interior.
"We will deliver the first branded furniture packages and signature designs created by a portfolio of celebrity designers, providing our customers with interiors styled by some of the most innovative designers in the 21st century."
Available from Luxe Interior will be a range of signature schemes and branded furniture packages in a variety of colourways, or a completely bespoke interior design by one of the celebrity designers.
The Directors of Luxe Interior have previously undertaken many high profile projects including the complete design and branding of the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, 'The World' - the world's largest private, five star cruise ship, as well as creating luxury homes for personalities in the music and film business and other stars of London's arts and media set.
Luxe Interior offers the procurement, design co-ordination and project management expertise associated with blue chip projects throughout the world. Their procurement and project management experience ensures a competitively priced product of the highest standard, delivered on site to strict time and quality parameters, with a turnaround of just two weeks from order to delivery.
This fully coordinated approach ensures that every stage of the process, from receipt of order to successful completion, flows seamlessly from start to finish. The service begins with the selection of a furniture package from the range of Luxe Interior signature designs, followed by procurement, delivery and installation.
Clients can now place orders with Luxe Interior for delivery and installation in August 2007. Thereafter they will be offering a two week turnaround on furniture package. The new Luxe Interior urban warehouse, showcasing the complete range of designs, will be open in Dubai from June 2007.

About the designers:
conran & partners has a reputation for creating intelligent design solutions in the fields of architecture, interior design, product design and graphic design. Their experience in this broad range of disciplines enables them to apply a holistic approach to projects, giving their work clarity and consistency. Each scheme is developed from a unifying idea, which informs every detail from the arrangement of space to colour, materials, furniture and graphics. The result is a portfolio of distinctive and high quality work, whether it is an apartment in Tokyo, a hotel lobby in Delhi, a rooftop restaurant in the city of London or a retail outlet for a major high street chain.
This ethos is exemplified by such projects as the Great Eastern Hotel, London and Niki Club, a resort hotel forty miles from Tokyo, as well as the various Conran restaurants and shops worldwide. Within the residential sector their work includes projects for The Mori Building Corporation, such as Roppongi Hills, Ark Hills and Motoazabu in Tokyo. In the UK they are currently working extensively with City Lofts Developments on a programme of apartment buildings throughout the country.
As Managing Director, architect Richard Doone has overseen the design and implementation of all Conran restaurants and Conran shop projects around the world, including Bridgemarket New York and the 260 bedroom Great Eastern Hotel in London. Richard also leads all their Japanese projects, such as The Mori Building in Tokyo.
tom dixon is one of the UK's most influential product designers and is almost entirely self-taught. He formed a passion for sculpting with metal which led him to create limited edition furniture. Quickly becoming one of the most talked-about avant-garde designers of his generation, Tom's DIY approach suited the mood of the early 1980s. Having made his name with design classics such as the S Chair and Pylon Chair, he opened his own studio and launched Eurolounge, a series of multifunctional furnishing items.
Motivated by materials and processes, Tom is driven by inventing and engineering. He is a craftsman first and foremost, and was appointed Head of Design and later Creative Director at Habitat. He has also been awarded an OBE for services to the British design community.
Tom's plastic creations such as the Jack lamp - part-lamp, part-seat, part-stackable sculpture - have become truly iconic designs. Celebrated for his experiments with unusual materials, Tom has designed objects and interiors for Terence Conran, Jean Paul Gaultier, Romeo Gigli, Ralph Lauren and Vivienne Westwood.
celia birtwell is the UK's favourite textile designer and muse to David Hockney, who famously painted her in Mr & Mrs Clark and Percy. Together with former partner Ossie Clark, she created a style that epitomised fashion during the late 60s and early 70s. The couple designed for the glitterati of swinging London - the Rolling Stones, the Beatles and Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Marianne Faithfull, Bianca Jagger and Paloma Picasso, as well as aristocracy.
Retaining her faithful clientele of the rich and famous, Celia began creating textiles for high-end luxury homes and hotels, including Claridges and the Dubai Hilton. Unique and playful, her designs incorporate romantic florals and quirky creatures, rendered with her trademark use of bold colour and pattern. She is currently enjoying the adoration of a fresh generation who are literally fighting over her designs. With two collections for Top Shop recently selling out within 5 minutes of the store opening, Celia Birtwell is indisputably the queen of British textile design.
orla kiely's philosophy is that good design is not over designed and functionality is king. It was this philosophy that led to the creation of herfirst range of signature stem print handbags, a stunning mix of retro cool and ladylike style.
Launched in the 1990's, the freshness she achieved through her use of colour and pattern created an instant appeal. Over the following decade her small, considered, bag collection has grown to include a complete ready-to-wear women's wear line, accessories and now interiors. From her first collection for Harrods in '93, this multi-award winning designer now spreads her time between devising ceramics and wallpaper for Habitat, working on a project for MoMA in New York and keeping her massive fan base in London and Japan in beautiful, must-have handbags and fashionable clothing.
The world of Orla Kiely is one where colour, pattern, graphic control, texture and rhythm continually work and rework together. She has a unique, immediately recognisable design language, developed through graphic patterns that celebrate her optimistic spirit. As down-to-earth as her designs are popular, the key to what drives Orla is her fixation on the evolution of a signature style, devotion to quality and practicality.
sedley place is an independent company of designers, run by designers for clients who require and appreciate good design. Specializing in beautifully crafted furniture and interiors, they understand that a room is not simply an anonymous, functional space, but should express a specific way of living, outlook and style. They approach their projects with intelligence, aiming to create a personality for each scheme to show more than a mere selection of well-matched finishes. The common thread through all their work is their love of natural materials and attention to detail, weaving design themes through carpets, curtain rods and cutlery to craft harmonious and intriguing interiors, filled with hidden treasures.
Sedley Place's creativity is applied to creating luxury homes for personalities in the music and film business, and other stars of London's arts and media set. Whether they want elaborate and elegant or minimal and modern, Sedley Place provides a bespoke service, rather than applying a trademark, house style. This versatility has also attracted some of the giants of the commercial world such as Coca-Cola and Volkswagen as well as the biggest advertising agencies.
