Outstanding employees and units honored at special awards night
Abu Dhabi - Abu Dhabi Ports celebrated the company's internal Excellence Award MAFNOOD (Arabic for "distinguished") with CEO Capt. Mohamed Juma al Shamisi honoring the winners at a special gala dinner held on 2 February in Abu Dhabi.
With many senior officials and staff members from Abu Dhabi Ports, as well as stakeholders and VIP guests in attendance, Abu Dhabi Ports honored eight employees in the "Individuals" category for their distinguished work and commitment to excellence, while two teams won in the "Project" and seven awards were given for outstanding accomplishments in the category "operating entities and divisions".
"The response to our MAFNOOD excellence award has been phenomenal, we received more than 58 submission and we congratulate the successful winners whose performance makes an exceptional contribution to Abu Dhabi Ports' wide range of operations and services.
"MAFNOOD not only gives Abu Dhabi Ports an opportunity to celebrate these great accomplishments but to enhance a healthy spirit of competition among our employees to guarantee high quality performances and foster best practices", said Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO, Abu Dhabi Ports.
The fact that Abu Dhabi Ports has a dedicated Quality Assurance and Excellence Department underlines the importance and significance that quality assurance and excellence have been given within the organisation.
"Abu Dhabi Ports takes its commitment to excellence very seriously. As a major ports and marine service provider, we not only want to maintain our high performance standards but exceed expectations in everything we do to satisfy our customers." adds Al Shamisi.
Launched in May last year, the MAFNOOD Excellence Award has been designed in line with the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP). The winners of MAFNOOD automatically qualify to enter the ADAEP competition which will be taking place next year.
Ahmad Al Khayyat, Senior Quality Assurance & Excellence Manager added that;"The first MAFNOOD Award event follows 10 months of hard work and dedication from our employees. The high response rates we have seen reflects the high level of interest and demonstrates our employees' attitude towards excellence. Their eagerness to participate in future MAFNOOD rounds is clear evidence that we are on track".
