Kuwait, 10. March, 2009 - Western Union, a leader in global money transfer services, announced a reduction in the fees for money transfers from Kuwait to India. Effective January 12, 2009, Western Union's money transfer service to all locations in India will cost KWD1[1] for amounts up to KWD 275, one Kuwaiti dinar less than the previous price of KWD 2 for transfers of the same amount.
Jean Claude Farah, Regional Vice President for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan, Western Union Financial Services, said: "The new service fee comes into effect following the successful launch and enthusiastic reception of the reduced pricing for money transfers for the Kuwait-Kerala corridor. We did some more research, took into account the voice of the customer, the Kuwaiti market and the Diaspora dynamics here, as well as feedback from our extensive network of cooperation agents, and felt it was only prudent to extend the new fee for all money transfers to India. I sincerely hope that the new pricing structure will match the needs of our Indian customers."
