Universal message reflects the cultural dimension through the translation of the site into many languages

Beirut: Pan Arab Web Awards Academy in Lebanon (Beirut) announced yesterday the winning of the website www.oman-qaboos.net for the fourth year which portrays the life and mission of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, has won wider recognition within the region by winning at the grand finale of the Pan Arab Web Awards (PAWA) competition for the year 2012.    

The great personality of His Majesty, Sultanate's achievements during the past four decades and his role at both regional and global levels are highlighted in this website, together with excerpts from some of His Majesty's major speeches. A variety of selected photographs illustrates His Majesty the Sultan's life, including his education and personal interests, while a number of national songs bring alive the culture and traditions of the Sultanate.                                              

Hamoud Mohammed Al Azri, General Supervisor of the website said on the fourth year winning between the kings and heads of states in the Middle East is a genuine desire of Omani youth translating was affirmed and as a confirmation of the Royal Speech made during the Annual Session of the Council of Oman in 2008. In that speech, His Majesty spoke about the ways to benefit from ICT, which has become the main element moving forward the development process in the third millennium. He tackled the royal attention accorded to finding a national strategy to develop the skills and abilities of citizens with regard to the use of IT.                                                               

Among the most important factors of the website, Al Azri explained, "There is no doubt that the translation of the site into 15 languages has had a big role in winning the site, which was welcomed by the award committee, which provides the opportunity for large numbers of people around the world to identify the great personality of His Majesty and his achievements." Additionally the launching of Social media pages which deliver the news in speed with the mobile technology nowadays.                                                            

The website emerged victorious among over 600 websites that entered this year's competition from among all the Middle East countries.    

The ceremony will be held honoring His Majesty website for this year as part of a grand ceremony hosted by the Pan Arab Academy for Internet later this month in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, which will be attended by many dignitaries, and ambassadors of Arab countries as well as experts of ICT, as well the general supervisor of the site to receive the award.                                                                    

The Arab Web Awards aims to expand inspire designers and document their work, and at the same time reward their skills so that they continue to improve. Also looks forward to deepening the spirit of innovation of web designers to suit professional and international standards, and the promotion of cultural opportunities and productivity in order to develop interactive motivational community aims to give recognition to this e-sector in the most superlative way.
