Doha, 25 September 2011: Vodafone Qatar announced the launch of its innovative solution to purchase and download BlackBerry Apps with its prepaid BlackBerry App Card.

The prepaid BlackBerry App Card from Vodafone is the first of its kind in the region giving customers the ability to easily get the latest applications for their BlackBerry without needing to use a credit card.  

This announcement follows Vodafone's launch last week of prepay BlackBerry services at just QR49 a month guaranteed for 10 years.

"Vodafone is excited about bringing this innovation to Qatar and increasing the range of products and services that we offer our customers.  There has never been a better time to sign up for BlackBerry services with Vodafone," said John Saad, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone Qatar.

"Mobile games and entertainment applications are becoming one of the most used features in smartphones today but with most App Stores customers need a credit card to purchase paid applications. This has been a challenge for many customers so we are delighted to offer this prepaid option for our BlackBerry customers," said Praveen Senadheera, Product Manager for BlackBerry, Vodafone Qatar.  

Vodafone BlackBerry customers can purchase the App Card for QR 50 from all Vodafone Retail outlets.  The card provides customers with instructions on how to access the Vodafone App Store where they can browse and download applications of their choice up to the value of the card. The App Store has a selection of the best paid games, entertainment, messaging and other useful and fun applications for BlackBerry.

Vodafone has partnered with Mobiroo Inc. to bring this innovative solution to Qatar.
