Resellers and End-Users to Gain First-Hand Knowledge of Data Protection Solutions

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - November 17, 2004 - Following the recent release of market data on the disaster recovery strategies of the Middle East's larger enterprise, executives from the Middle East operations of VERITAS Software Corporation (NASDAQ: VRTS) are in the UAE next week to discuss how the market's small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) can more cost-effectively and reliably manage their own data growth.

The two VERITAS seminars, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on 23 November and Dubai on 24 November, will demonstrate to decision-makers how to automate data management, protect themselves against information downtime, and recover from unexpected data loss.  The roadshow has made stops in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Lebanon over the last two months.

The UAE events will act as platforms to highlight a number of VERITAS' innovative support programs, like DirectAssist, which is a free Web-based program aimed at SMB's with limited technical resources.  This programme enables users to resolve their own support issues with automated Web-based assistance.
