As part of Discover America Week 2019, U.S. Ambassador Justin Siberell visited the offices of US Company Sabre Travel Network to learn about the latest trends and technology in the travel and tourism sector. H.E. received demonstrations on the latest technology that Sabre is delivering in the market. He was welcomed by the company’s Vice President, Abdul-Razzaq Iyer and members from his leadership team. 

Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR) - the leading global technology company for the travel and tourism sector, has been presented in the region under a longstanding joint venture with Gulf Air- the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain for over two decades, taking from the Kingdom its headquarters to serve as the operational hub for 11 offices located in strategic markets including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Egypt.

On this occasion, Ambassador Siberell stated: “Sabre is one of America’s truly great technology companies.  It is introducing technology and service that will change the face of air travel for millions of passengers in the region.  Sabre’s upgraded services will greatly facilitate travel to and from the region, including the direct flight planned between Bahrain and the United States for 2020.”

The Bahrain travel industry is rapidly growing, and its value is expected to reach $1 billion by 2020.  To tap into this growth and enable the travel stakeholders to capture on this opportunity, Sabre invests in customized solutions and brings its global expertise and latest technology to its leading customers. 

“By 2025, Sabre will lead a new global market for personalized travel that is ten times bigger than now,” said Iyer. “To achieve this vision, we are working to empower our customers in Bahrain and the Middle East and equip them with latest technology and solutions to better understand the expectations of the well-informed tech-savvy travelers, whom experiences are accustomed to high level of personalized services outside the travel sector,” he added.

Sabre’s travel marketplace plays an important role in facilitating the marketing and sale of airfares, hotel rooms, rental cars, rail tickets and other types of travel, to more than 425,000 travel agents and thousands of corporations who use it to shop, book and manage travel. It is one of the world’s largest marketplaces, processing over US $120 billion in estimated travel spend.
