Dubai, United Arab Emirates. November 23, 2009: Al-Futtaim Motors' Commercial Division has been awarded the '2008 Hino Vehicle Sales Achievement Award' in respect of 2008 sales, recording an 80 percent increase on 2007, to reach an impressive 927 units in 2008.
The award, which recognises Al-Futtaim Motors as a top achiever in sales growth and ultimate progress in the Middle East, was presented by Mr. Koichi Ojima, Senior Executive Officer, Hino Motors Ltd. to Paul Henning, General Manager, Al-Futtaim Motors - Hino and Javed Khan, Hino Sales Manager, during the sixth Hino Middle East Conference at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City earlier this month.
Mr Henning stated: "This award is a fantastic pat on the back for the sales team that work diligently to develop the business especially in these challenging times. Overall the conference was particularly upbeat as we discussed the introduction of new products to the region and developing a stronger infrastructure for our customers. As a result I can confirm that in 2010 we will be expanding our commercial product range in the UAE to include our first bus series, offering 30 and 60 seater models. Furthermore our after-service network will expand with the launch of two new facilities planned to service the increase in demand across the Emirates. Looking forward to 2010, I am confident with these new developments we will see a further strengthening of the Hino brand in the UAE."
The positive theme of the three day conference continued with the inauguration of the new Hino Middle East regional office at Sharjah International Airport Free Zone which was attended by the President of Hino Motors Ltd.
Mr Henning concluded: "Further cementing Hino Motors Ltd confidence in the region is the launch of the first regional office which will play a key role in assisting with technical training and sales development across the region. This facility will provide Hino customers with further peace of mind in that they are receiving quality products coupled with a commitment to the after-sales service."
