Sales boosted by increase in Yukon, Yukon XL and Sierra sales

Big year ahead with all new SUVs and HD pickups to hit showroom floors

DUBAI - UAE vehicle buyers continue to invest in quality, power, luxury and safety, according to General Motors, which reported a 46% rise in GMC sales in the country for the month of January when compared to the same period last year.

These results were driven by significant growth in sales of the GMC Yukon full size SUV range and 2014 Sierra pickup which went on sale in October last year.

The results constitute the highest overall growth for GMC in the UAE over the January period since 2008.

"It's a great start to the year for our GMC brand and even better to see UAE customers experiencing the features and capabilities that come with our GMC vehicles," says Maurice Williams, GM Middle East President and Managing Director.

"It's no surprise our customers are attracted to the bold design, top of the line safety features and power that GMC is known for."

"2014 promises to be an interesting year ahead as we'll soon see the next evolution of GMC in the UAE market," says Williams, speaking of the highly anticipated, all-new 2015 Yukon full-size SUV and 2015 Sierra HD pickup series which will be seen on the showroom floor later in the year.
