UAE General Information Authority (GIA) has held on Monday April 19th in Fairmont Bab Al Bahar Abu Dhabi in & Tuesday April 20th in the Address Burj Khalifa Dubai, the Federal Enterprise Architecture symposium in co-operation with Shift Technologies, a member of Abdulwahid Al Rostamani Group, and Maptech, a member of Al Marzouqi Group.

The Two day events comes in concurrence with the federal decision issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minster of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to merge the General Information Authority (GIA) with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) to upgrade e-government services and boost infrastructure.

The event features a joint working program to firmly establish Federal Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles, apply the world's leading practices in the field of online services and ultimately streamline and speed up the application of e-government process based on the best practices and lowest cost.

The event was attended by a number of government officials led by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director of Fujairah e-government, H.E. Salem Al Shair Director General of the (GIA) and H.E. Majed Al Mismar of the UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).

H.E. Mr. Al Shair, said:

"We are pleased to work hand in hand in this field with Shift Technologies, a member company of AbdulWahid Al Rostamani Holdings, and Maptech from Al Mazroui Group of Companies, as this is compatible with our belief in the importance of the partnership between the public and private sectors and serves a national interest which brings benefit to everyone."

Meanwhile, Mr. Abdulwahid Al Rostamani stated that this co-operation agreement embodied the principles of Abdulwahid Al Rostamani Holdings and the mission of Shift Technologies, which called for effective contribution to conveying its world-class experiences as well as best practices and latest technologies to the Arab countries in general and the UAE in particular through its applied experiences and international partnerships.

On his part, Mr. Rashid Al Mazroui hailed the efforts exerted by the GIA to spread knowledge as regards of Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and its benefits for streamlining and speeding up the successful application of e-government in the UAE.
