Innsbruck- April 19 2012. UAE-based physicians will present information about their experiences with MED-EL Hearing Implant Systems at the 9th Annual Middle East Update in Otolaryngology Conference and Exhibition (ME-OTO) taking place in Dubai next week (22-24 April 2012).
Dr. Tarabichi, Head of ENT Department, American Hospital Dubai, and Co-Chairman of the conference will moderate a session on the first day of the conference entitled "Cochlear Implants: The next Step" and talk about hearing preservation.
"Cochlear Implants have had a profound effect on the way we treat people with hearing loss or impairment," said Dr. Tarabichi,. "We now have extensive experience with these devices in the UAE and we are able to significantly enhance the lives of these patients."
Prof. Dr. Hammad Mondy, Consultant and Head of ENT Department, Al Mafraq Hospital will also moderate a session on day one about "CI in the Middle East" during which he will present information on "Our Experience in the New MED-EL electrode (FLEX28) for Infants and Young children."
"Cochlear Implant technology continues to evolve," said Prof. Mondy. "It is very important for physicians to share their personal experiences as the technology develops to enable the community to adopt new developments that will enhance the patient experience and results."
This session will represent the first time that information about the FLEX 28 electrode has been presented in the region. The FLEX 28 is a new electrode that is designed for best possible hearing performance while protecting the delicate neural structures during insertion.
