Doha:

Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Turkey, today celebrated the launch of its highly anticipated direct 3 weekly services between Doha Hamad International Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul starting from Wednesday 31st of October 2018.

Turkish Airlines is further strengthening its presence in the Gulf region and adding more flights from and to Doha to help travelers to find more convenient flights and more options. Commencing flights from Sabiha Gökçen Airport which is in the Asian side of Istanbul, will increase frequencies and capacity on this route between the two countries.

These flights will take the airline’s total weekly flights to reach 17 per week between Doha and Istanbul, with 3 weekly flights to Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Turkish Airlines currently flies daily – 14 weekly flights – to Doha from its hub at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

“We have seen an increasing number of guests travelling between Turkey and Qatar and we want this trend to continue to grow in 2019” said, Mr. Mehmed Zingal, General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Doha, “We are increasing our capacity to Qatar to meet growing demands, and by introducing 3 weekly flights from Sabiha Gökçen to Doha, it will complement our current daily flights between Doha and Istanbul. The Asian side of Istanbul is a very popular leisure and business destination, and this new service will offer our passengers the opportunity to see the other beautiful side of Istanbul”.

Traveling to Sabiha Gokcen will also enable passengers to easily access popular Turkish destinations like Bursa, Bodrum, Ankara, Samsun, Antalya, amongst others. Besides that, international connections like Rome, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, and other European cities are also be available to comfortably reach from this airport.

The TK 1415 flight will take off from the Turkish SAW Airport at 21:05 and land in Doha 01:15 (following day). On return, TK 1416 will depart from Hamad International Airport at 04:45 and arrive in Istanbul’s second airport at 09:10. The route will be served by Airbus 320 type aircraft.
