Manama - Kingdom of Bahrain H.E. Mr. Mohammed Bin Ebrahim Al Mutawa, Advisor to H.H. the Prime Minister for Cultural Affairs visited the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and discussed with Mr. Mohammed Al Amer, Chairman of TRA's Board of Directors and Mr. Alan Horne, the General Director, Bahrain's Excellence program for government performance, and the introduction of the model of the program, as part of the efforts made to promote the culture of excellence and implement it in government and private bodies and institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain.


The Advisor to HH the Prime Minister for Cultural Affairs was accompanied by Sheikh Hussam bin Isa Al Khalifa, from the Prime Minister Court and Mr. Khalid Al Zayani, Assistant Undersecretary for Press and Media Affairs at the Court, along with Mr. Mohammed Bu Hejji, Expert of Bahrain Excellence Program and Mr. Ebrahim Al Tamimi, from Bahrain Center for Excellence.
 
Mr. Mohammed Bin Ebrahim Al Mutawa said that the program of excellence in performance aims at achieving a forward leap in government performance, in order to reach distinct levels of quality and performance at an international level, by focusing on improving knowledge and raising productivity of the staff of government institutions.

Mr. Al Mutawa added that the participation and cooperation of all public bodies in this program will contribute effectively to supporting the achievement of sustainable development and increasing the competitiveness of Bahrain in the region.

During the visit, Mr. Mohammed Bu Hejji gave a presentation on the indicators for excellence in performance for TRA, pointing out that there is a direction to recognize and use TRA as a model for government institutions for excellence in performance, in view of the policies it adopts, which support advanced performance and pursuit of high-quality output, which are in line with the requirements of the excellence program.

Mr. Mohammed Al Amer, Chairman of TRA stressed that the establishment of a national scientific reference for indicators of quality and excellence for government performance will significantly contribute to raising the quality of government performance and developing it, thus contributing to the achievement of the objectives of the economic vision 2030 of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is based on the principles of fairness, competition and sustainability.

Mr. Alan Horne, the General Director of TRA said that TRA's participation in Bahrain excellence program is based on its belief in the importance of upgrading the performance level , pointing out that TRA has been working and adopting international best practice since its establishment in 2002, to ensure quality of its legislations in support of  the liberalization of the telecommunications market and increasing competition, thus supporting the national economy.

Mr. Horne added that TRA is considered to be a leading body at the Arab region in the field of excellence due to its transparency and professionalism in carrying out all its responsibilities.
