Dubai, March 07, 2007 - On Friday the 9th of March, the Dubai Autodrome will gear up for some fast-paced action, with the sixth round of the Dubai Autodrome Motor Sports Club national raceday, the premier motor racing series in the UAE.

Motosports fans can look forward to three thrilling championships at the 4.29 km international circuit of the Dubai Autodrome. These championships that are a regular feature in every national raceday are the UAE National Superstock Bike Championship, featuring 600 cc inline four-cylinder and 750 cc twin-cylinder bikes, the Motorworks GTI Cup featuring 238 bhp track modified VW Golf GTI and the Bartercard Gulf Radical Cup, featuring 252 bhp SR3 radical sports racing cars.

On Saturday the 24th of February 2007, the 5th round saw Costas Papantonis moving up from second place on the grid, in the Motorworks GTI Cup and overtaking Neil Greer, with an amazing doubles win for the fourth time this season. This put him in the championship lead with 89 points with Yazan Rijleh following with 64 points and Al Falasi in third place with 35 points.

Al Azhari continued to amaze spectators with his record breaking performance that resulted in his fourth double win of the season in the Bartercard Gulf Radical Cup. With these two masterful wins and an accumulated score of 261 points, Karim has proven to be potential champion once more. He took an unprecedented lead of 66 points, over Mohammed Al-Qwais in second and an 85 points lead over Omran Al-Qwais who roared in at third place.

Following the 5th round of the UAE National Superstock Bikes, the current lead position of the championship is being maintained by Saudi rider Abdul Aziz on his kawazaki, with 162 points, with Craig Muirhead following with 151 points and Johnnie Piennar in third place with 150 points. Suzuki rider Andrew Flint moved up to 4th place in the championship standings by wining the last two races, accumulating an overall 144 points.

The day of exciting motor racing action is open free of charge to the general public on Friday. Two races are scheduled for each championship, starting from 1.30 pm onwards. In the morning, riders and drivers will have free practice sessions and will participate in the qualifying sessions to determine grid positions for the races.
