Dubai 92 Listeners Get Chance to Win Huge Prizes

Dubai: 18 October, 2008 - Dubai 92, Dubai's longest running radio station, is hosting a rollover competition in which contestants must identify a frustratingly hard-to-place noise on the popular Breakfast Show with Catboy and Geordiebird. Listeners can call in at 6.45am and 8:00am with their answers for a chance to win huge prizes.

'The Dubai Festival Centre Sound,' started at a jackpot of AED500 eight weeks ago. With the prize money rolling over by AED500 each day until a winner is declared, the amount has now skyrocketed to close to AED30,000.

On 9 October, the jackpot was bumped-up by AED 10,000, and the surprises don't end there. If the Festival Centre Sound isn't correctly guessed by this Thursday, it's rumored Catboy will be adding another large amount to the total.

Catboy says, "Until my boss comes in and tells me to stop, we'll keep doing it. It was a ten-grand bonus last week. Who knows what it'll be this week and the next!"

So far Catboy and Geordiebird have received close to 300 incorrect guesses for the current Festival Centre Sound and even away from the studio they can't get away from it.

"We were on a boat in Mussandam on the weekend, and even there several of the other passengers were angling for hints and clues," declared Geordiebird.

The Festival Centre Sound is being played every day on the Dubai 92 Breakfast Show with Catboy and Geordiebird. For anyone who needs some help (and let's face it, that's all of us), the guys have offered the following tips:

  • Check out http://www.dubai92.com to hear the Festival Centre Sound
  • Whilst there, see the list of wrong guesses and make sure yours isn't on it!
  • Save the studio number into your phone - 600 14 92
  • And finally, be persistent. You've got to be in it to win it!
