Export Marketing, export association of the German furniture industry, takes the next step in working the UAE markets starting the German Competence Offices in Dubai.
Bernhard Beckermann, managing director of Export Marketing Gesellschaft, said, "German Competence Offices are the current activity to market the products of the German furniture industry in the Gulf Region. 1998 we startet our activities to analyse the UAE markets, to develope marketing concepts for German companies and to support the German furniture industry in their exhibitions atfairs in Dubai."
German Competence Offices, established by Export Marketing and Sesam Business Consultants, are the link between the German furnishing industry and decision-makers in the construction industry of the GCC countries. The aim of this company pool is to serve as a one-stop-shop for specifiers, interior designers, architects and consultants of major construction works such as hotels, commercial and residential buildings and compounds as well as public projects throughout the region.
The Seminar "Building boom in the Gulf Area" - organized by Export Marketing in Herford/Germany last month - provided the German furniture industry with information on the German Competence Offices and the actual building projects in Dubai.
The participants ,amongst others, Asmuth Leuchten, BAX Kitchens, Hera, Missal Objekt Licht, Thielemeyer and WINI also got information on specific tendering procedures in the region.
Germany is a major centre of furniture production in Europe. The turnover of the entire industry exceeded 20 billion Euro in 2004. Traditionally the furniture market in Germany itself is quite strong, which is why the industry has not been as export-oriented. This trend is changing and in 2004 25% of the entire turnover resulted from exports.
"The German furniture industry succeed in doing business in UAE in the product ranges of high quality furniture, kitchen, built-in furniture, special furniture (e.g. clinics and medical practices), building panels, stairs and windows."
The attribute 'made in germany', the high quality of the products and the design are the important factors for VAE decision-makers to collaborate with the German furniture industry", said Bernhard Beckermann.
