In a forum dedicated to the development of entrepreneurs and SMEs, Agency conducts workshop on creating meaningful brand stories
Showcasing their commitment towards providing innovative branding solutions to clients in the Sultanate, while harboring the philosophy of growing and supporting local talent within entrepreneur and SME sector, TBWA/ZEENAH participated in the inaugural Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Oman 2013. The forum, which brought together entrepreneurs and SME operators with industry thought leaders, mentors and potential investors took place at the National Business Centre (NBC) premises at the Knowledge Oasis in Muscat.
Having launched the NBC brand identity in August 2013, TBWA/ZEENAH has been closely associated with the Global Entrepreneurship Week Oman 2013. Providing GEW participants with an overview on the strategic importance of branding for small business success, Paul Ross, Director of New Business at TBWA/ZEENAH conducted a workshop entitled "What's Your Story? Creating a Brand That Stands Out", which underlined the vital role effective branding plays in successful business ventures.
Highlighting the significance of this participation, Mohammed al Farei, Managing Director at Zeenah Group said: "With more than 8 million brands marketed in the world, it is critical to develop a brand that stands out. The Oman chapter of the Global Entrepreneurship Week is a pioneer initiative and we are pleased to be able to share knowledge with young Omanis and provide a global perspective to the next generation of future entrepreneurs and business leaders in Oman. Bringing to the Sultanate an all new platform for the development of entrepreneurs and small businesses in Oman, the NBC is an initiative of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) and aims to activate the Sultanate's economic vision to support the vibrant SME sector.
The GEW conducted a series of workshops and competitions aimed at business owners, university as well as college students. The workshops provided the attendees with skills on starting and running a business, marketing and branding as well building confidence in presenting a good business idea to funding agencies and investors.
Paul Ross, Director of New Business at TBWA/ZEENAH commented, "As an added impetus to those young Omanis who aspire to start their own venture, the workshop on creating brand stories focused on developing a powerful brand story and how to use innovation to communicate their message consistently at all touch points with stakeholders. Furthermore, the workshop explored the traits of successful start-up brands in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as iconic brands from other categories. The importance of the emerging "millennial generation" and other trends and opportunities in marketing was also discussed.
Mohammad Al Farei added that the company has, since its inception, strongly focused on the recruitment and training of local Omani talent in the industry and is proud to boast a high rate of Omanis employed. In addition, Zeenah Group is looking to foster closer relations with higher education institutions to introduce talented young Omanis into the media and communications sector.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week Oman 2013 sought to enhance relations among businessmen, entrepreneurs, and link entrepreneurs to decision makers in the Sultanate. The event also provided young entrepreneurs the opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs who share their journey of challenges and opportunities.
