70 destinations in SWISS winter timetable
Dubai, November 29, 2004: Under its new winter timetable, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has regulated its departure schedule to and from Dubai, which will see the daily non-stop outbound flight from Zurich depart at 12:40 allowing for good connections from other European destinations, and arriving in Dubai at 21:40, while the non-stop return from Dubai to Zurich will depart at 02:30 and arrive in Zurich at 06:20 in the morning.
However, in other regional news, the airline will commence daily flights to Muscat, Oman. SWISS has also signed a codeshare agreement with Oman Air, the national carrier for the Sultanate of Oman. The new agreement will see an improvement in services between Zurich, Dubai and Muscat, and help to boost tourism traffic to the country.
SWISS has also launched new services to Alicante in Spain, as well as added flights to London City, Manchester and Prague. SWISS will continue to serve 70 destinations worldwide under the new winter timetable, 43 of which are in Europe. On the intercontinental front SWISS serves 27 destinations, with flights to Karachi being discontinued.
From Zurich, improved departure times have been introduced for flights to Budapest, Copenhagen, Manchester, Warsaw, Prague and Geneva. Thanks to new codeshare flights, SWISS customers can take advantage of additional services to Budapest (operated by Malev) and Copenhagen (operated by Maersk), while passengers travelling from Basel, will now fly to London City rather than London Heathrow. In Berlin, SWISS moves operations to Tegel Airport due to the planned closure of Tempelhof.
The winter timetable also connects Geneva with London City and codeshare flights to Heathrow, which are operated by British Airways, will remain available for the time being. Also new are a non-stop daily codeshare flight between Geneva and Copenhagen, operated by Maersk Air, and a twice-daily codeshare service between Geneva and Budapest, operated by Malev. In response to demand from numerous business travellers, SWISS has added a third morning flight from Geneva to Zurich, departing at 07:00.
In Europe, SWISS itself serves 42 destinations out of Zurich, 14 from Basel and 9 from Geneva. Our codeshare partners complement this route network with service to another ten destinations from Zurich and five from Geneva.
From Zurich and Geneva, SWISS offers non-stop service to 27 intercontinental destinations. Service to Tripoli will be increased from three to five times weekly starting November 28.
