Muscat, 4 September 2012
Nawras, Oman's customer friendly communications provider, gave 116 students a unique opportunity to join this dynamic family over the summer to gain valuable work experience. Students from 26 different colleges and universities in Oman earned study credits while learning new skills at one of the Sultanate's fastest growing companies.
Shihab Al Lawati, Specialist Training and Development at Nawras, said, "An internship at Nawras equips students with practical workplace experience and helps prepare them for a promising career. Our interns work alongside a Nawras family member on a project relevant to their study programmes as they learn essential skills to become the next generation of communications professionals in this fast changing industry."
Short term internship opportunities at Nawras are available to students who are nominated by the Ministry of Manpower, interested in gaining a rewarding work experience independently or as part of their study programme graduation requirement. As an integral member of the Omani community, Nawras offers pleasingly different opportunities to nurture Omani talent in an exciting and energetic work environment that allows family members to grow professionally and enrich the daily lives of people in Oman through innovative communications.
Tamim Al Alawi, a recent Nawras HR intern, said, "Being able to take part in a thriving business has been incredibly useful for me as I prepare to begin my career. Working with experienced professionals has shown the level of commitment and dedication needed to work at Nawras. The internship has been a window into the world I will be a part of very soon."
Moza Al Battashi, Nawras Senior Coach, added, "As well as fostering Omani talent, we also offer the chance for international students from Sultan Qaboos University to join the Network and Services Planning Department as part of our continued support for the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IEASTE) programme."
With on-going investments in skill and talent development, Nawras, a Qtel Group company, ensures a rewarding customer experience both today and in the future.
