Fonterra Foodservices announces all product stocks sold out just three months from launch

Anchor Extra Yield Cooking Cream proven to produce an extra 20% yield

Dubai, 13 July, 2011: Since its launch at the end of March 2011, the newest product in the culinary field - Anchor Extra Yield Cooking Cream - has become a professional kitchen essential, racking up string sales since launch. With demand growing by an average of 13% month on month, all product stocks are sold out until the end of July 2011, further reinforcing Fonterra's overall share in the local cooking cream market.

Referred to as 'liquid gold' by those in the know, more than 40 of the region's leading hotels and restaurants are now using Anchor Extra Yield Cooking Cream in their kitchens. This unique cooking cream developed by Fonterra contains high-quality milk straight from New Zealand cows, and has been created to enable chefs to produce an extra 20 per cent yield in the kitchen, with higher versatility, heat stability and taste.

Kamal Gupta, Managing Director, Fonterra Brands Middle East Africa and CIS says the GCC, and its fast-evolving foodservice sector is a key growth market for Fonterra: 'The food and beverage industry is a significant contributor to the Middle East's growing economy, and the extent to which this product has been welcomed by the professional market shows the region is striving to stay at ahead in the culinary game."

The new-age Anchor cooking cream is heat stable, requires no further reduction and can be used in the hot kitchen, cold kitchen and pastry kitchen equally. Anchor Extra Yield Cooking Cream does not split or curdle; is acid stable, has excellent coating and is extremely resistant to heat. The product has been developed using the latest dairy technology and even boasts a seven-month shelf life.

Chef Peter Hallmanns, Fonterra's Advisory Chef in Dubai, says due to the versatility and flexibility of the product, he is not surprised by the positive sales. "Looking for new innovative products and solutions is at the heart of the Foodservices business. Our global team at Fonterra worked hand-in-hand with the industry while we were formulating this product, and the result is a consistent, adaptable and cost-effective cream, which is already proving to be invaluable to local professional kitchens."

Anchor Extra Yield Cooking Cream is the latest culinary offering from Fonterra, the New-Zealand based company, whose Anchor butters, milk powders, natural & processed cheeses and whipping creams are already well-established amongst the food and beverage (F&B) industry in the GCC and across the world. Fonterra is passionate in its drive to improve the culinary industry in the region, both through research and development into new products and by hosting workshops and competitions to equip up-and-coming chefs with new skills.
