Abu Dhabi, April 07th, 2011: In support of Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), Mr. Karl-Heinz Mueller, the Managing Director of Strabag International which is the parent company of Zublin Construction, met with Mr. Khaled Salmeen Al Kawari, Executive Vice President of Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), today at the Hannover Messe Fair. Zublin construction is currently responsible for the AED 1.028 billion ($ 280 Million) contract for the construction of the Khalifa Port at Taweelah. The project, which is currently 72 % complete, will open in Q4 2012.

Commenting on Mr. Mueller's visit, Mr. Khaled Salmeen Al Kawari said: "We are delighted to receive Mr. Mueller today at the Hannover Messe Fair and share with him the progress of the Khalifa Port construction. Zublin, through Strabag International, are a key partner on this project and we are proud to be working with them."

Mr. Karl-Heinz Mueller, Managing Director of Strabag International said: "We are proud to be associated with the Abu Dhabi Ports Company and the Khalifa Port project. It is an important step in the infrastructure of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Kizad's presence at the Hannover Messe Fair emphasises this relationship and we hope to see them participating regularly in the coming years."

Khalifa Port, an ultra-modern facility, has been dredged to a depth of 16 metres to accommodate the largest container ships. Another key feature is the first semi-automated container terminal in the region. The Port Island extends 6 km offshore, has a principal quay wall of 3.2 km and is linked to the mainland by a bridge 1 km long.
