Spinneys, the largest retailer in the Middle East and North Africa, opened its newest branch, the largest and third in Achrafieh, cementing its place as the most visited supermarket chain in Beirut.
This brand new outlet is located on Achrafieh Str, in the Tilal Beirut building and accompanies the Mar Mitr and Alexander Str branches, each welcoming thousands of customers every day.
In keeping with the Spinneys' standards the 5,000sqm, three-floor supermarket will sell every variety of food produce and household appliance imaginable. Exclusive wines, rare beverages, and imported cigars will be on offer, in addition to a floor customized to serve the freshest meats, breads, fish and cheeses.
Platinum cardholders can relax in the private lounge with freshly made coffee and newspapers, while Spinneys employees take care of the bill and bag up purchased goods. Paintings by Lebanese artists adorn the walls and the Platinum members can even watch their favorite channel on a flat screen television as they wait for their shopping.
Due to the high measure of traffic a two-floor, free parking lot has also been built so that customers do not have to spend time searching the congested roads for a parking space.
On top of this, the new branch of Spinneys is investing in the community by creating 150 jobs for locals. The new team will be trained and equipped to provide the superior services that keep the customers coming back.
Michael Wright, CEO of Spinneys, said that this expansion plan aims to make Achrafieh the foremost shopping district in the city and meet the demands of the growing community. When asked about the choice of area Wright replied, "Achrafieh has always been a substantial market with a broad base of loyal customers."
Spinneys now have 10 outlets in Lebanon in addition to two branches of its offshoot "Happy Discount Store". The supermarket has pioneered retail services in the region and has a growing presence in online shopping.
