International companies such as Intel, Microsoft, and Hewlett Packard cooperate with Sakhr to familiarize Arab developers with state-of-the-art Arabic speech technologies and solutions


Egypt- Cairo- 21 December 21, 2002:
Sakhr Software Company, Arab IT leader, hosted on Tuesday, December17th a specialized seminar titled “Developing Arabic Speech Applications”.
 
The seminar was held in the Lotus Hall of Sheraton Heliopolis hotel in Cairo. It was attended by top executives from Intel, Microsoft, and Hewlett Packard. The seminar discussed Sakhr technologies in the speech field including Text-To-Speech and Automatic Speech Recognition and how to integrate them with development tools such as; Intel CTADE, Intel VPRS and Microsoft Net Speech.
 
The seminar included lectures conducted by specialists from three international companies; Intel, Microsoft, and Hewlett Packard in addition to Sakhr Software. The seminar was attended by about 85 of top Arab executives and developers specialized in Speech and Communications representing 64 Egyptian companies.
 
Mr. Salah Malaeb, Sakhr Software General Manager, has welcomed all the guests and inaugurated the seminar with a speech in which he outlined the Arabic technologies provided by Sakhr for Arab developers.
 
Mr. Salah Malaeb has referred to this seminar, held in Cairo, is meant to encourage Arab developers to develop applications and solutions based on Arabic Automatic Speech technologies.
 
Following his speech, the seminar began with lectures and presentations illustrating the ease of developing solutions based on Arabic Speech technologies. The seminar also explained technical details to the participating developers on how to integrate Sakhr technologies with Intel’s and Hewlett Packard’s platforms and Microsoft’s environment to allow them develop their own solutions and programs.
 
Mr. Tony Prince, Intel Middle East Business Development Manager, said that cooperation between Intel and Sakhr in the field of integrating Sakhr speech technologies with Intel VPRS and Intel CTADE platforms would help Arab developers produce Arab solutions based on state-of-the-art Arab and international technologies.
 
Mr. Nazih Amin, from Microsoft, has then delivered a lecture on Microsoft’s latest version of Net Speech SDK, which allows developers to develop Arabic speaking Internet applications.
 
And from Hewlett Packard, Eng. Adel Mansour has delivered a lecture on HP’s Speech solutions.
 
The seminar concluded with the granting of awards to lot-winners; Information Technology Inc was awarded Sakhr’s Automatic Speech Recognition Engine, while Advanced Solutions Company was awarded the Tex- to-Speech Engine.
