The first Middle East SPE Project and Facilities Challenges Conference takes place alongside the Middle East Turbomachinery Symposium (METS), under the patronage and support of His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry, Qatar Petroleum (QP) Managing Director, in Qatar.
Regardless of the continuous technological and scientific advancements, the discovery and recovery of oil and gas is still complex and challenging. There are always new emerging issues that defy a smooth production process of oil and gas; these issues pertain to various sectors of the industry, one of which is the facilities and surface assets used for E&P projects. The primary challenge of this sector is the constant need for new materials, innovating existing products or modifying and developing technologies or processes in order to sustain the working life of the industry assets and production to more than 20 years.
The SPE Project and Facilities Challenges Conference, which takes place alongside METS, 13-16 February 2011, at the Sheraton Resort and Convention Hotel, is a prime event that will comprehensively tackle the various challenges related to projects and facilities, from smart design to effective implementation. Over 36 technical presentations will be accessible during a 12-session conference taking place at the Sheraton Resort and Convention Hotel, Doha, Qatar.
