The school offers many channels of education, namely engineers training, professional masters, a continuing education and support classes for students of preparatory classes in engineering education.

The Engineering sector is structured around three main areas:

• Mathematics and Information Technology and Communication (MITC)

• Engineering Construction, Components and Systems (ECCS)

• Chemical and Biological Engineering Procedures (CBEP)

The programs of classes are developed from these three main areas and lead in a gradual and coherent way, to many majors of training Engineers.

More and Better

Polytechnique Sousse, as it is indicated by its scholar's promoters, is framed as a double will. The government encouraged the association of private schools to meet the challenges of higher education by increasing its share from 2 to 10%. But also, to double, in 5 years, the ability of engineers' training to bring them from 3,500 to 7,000 graduates per year and this by 2014. The objective is to reach progressively the ratio of developed countries which is 10 engineers per 1000 inhabitants (now 2.2/1000 in Tunisia).

But there is also the ambition to contribute to a more qualitative, enhancing skills and competencies, and confirm the excellence of the Tunisian university label.

At the origin of this project, there are about thirty teachers and university researchers «who are the best in their fields, as it is stressed-upon, They were selected among laureates, graduates of engineering schools and universities, business trainers, perforating researchers, authors of articles and books, internationally renowned, leaders and confirmed personalities in the management of academic institutions. »

A reinforced structure

To consolidate its financial and managerial foundations, they are backed, as a corporation (Formation Group and Engineering, GFE), on SICAR (ATD) and open their shares to private companies and executives. This assembly, carefully put together, based on a rigorous pedagogical aspects, research, management and international cooperation.

Thus, the Board of Directors of GFI is chaired by Ms. Maha Tagine and an Orientation and Development Board, composed of groups of consultants are established. It covers all training activities including the Ecole Polytechnique. More specifically, all the appointments of the school are operational, from administrative management, studies, to classes and many other departments.

According to the established agenda, the call for applications will be open on July 1st 2009 to facilitate the study of student's admission files and the selection of eligible ones for registration. All preparations are ready in terms of facilities, laboratories, equipment, programs and modules. To start, the choice fell on a site in the heart of the university area of Sousse, near the University and students' homes and restaurants on the main way, a few yards from the Sahloul hospital. In the second phase, a dedicated implementation is planned to be in the Technology park of Sousse.

It should be noted that Tunisia has 25 engineering institutes including 6 private ones, the 7th being the Polytechnique of Sousse. In France, for example, there are 250 ones including 60 private.
