Sony's Line-up of BRAVIA 3D LCD TVs Recognised for Excellence

Dubai-UAE: 23rd November, 2010 - Sony Corporation, the consumer electronics giant, today announced that it has won the Gold Award in the 'Best LCD TV' category by CNET Asia's Annual Readers' Choice Awards. Three products from its BRAVIA 3D LCD television line-up have also scooped top spots in the '10 Best 3D TVs in the World Today' giant review by 3D Radar, Europe's leading online resource and part of the TechRadar family of leading technology websites.

Osamu Miura, Managing Director, Sony Gulf, said: "Sony is committed to creating wide-spread adoption of the 3D technology. We have invested significantly in this category and are involved across the chain of operations in terms of producing good products and creating original 3D content to take 3D into the homes of viewers.

"Of course, we have a seamless 3D compatibility across our product categories, where our BRAVIA 3D LED TVs are vital to the viewers' experience in Sony's 3D-world proposition. It's only natural then that we are extremely proud of this achievement. The accolade reinforces Sony's status in the 3D arena and we will continue to make top-of-the-range products that will complement our undisputable technology leadership."

The BRAVIA KDL-46NX710, which won the Gold Award in the 'Best LCD TV' category at the CNET Asia's Annual Readers' Choice Awards, delivers supreme colour for more life-like viewing along with plasma-like blacks, a tight bass and crisp treble, RF-based remote control and a unique and customizable design.

Sony's flagship 'signature' 3D BRAVIA KDL-60LX900 won the top spot on Europe's leading online resource - 3D Radar, for its 'amazingly slim and sporty minimalistic Monolithic design', and was commended for delivering 'solid 3D pictures that offer a captivating experience'. 3D Radar also applauded the model's 2D picture quality that was described as "a very natural looking, cinematic high-definition picture".

3D Radar also praised the multimedia entertainment capabilities of the 200Hz Motionflow BRAVIA LX900. In its citation, it applauded "the impressively well stocked BRAVIA Internet Video service...arguably the most complete online TV platform around at the moment...with the BRAVIA Internet Widgets and integrated W-Fi connectivity". Sony's BRAVIA KDL-40HX800 has been recognised for its 'admirable sense of depth and brightness, solid HD performance' and 'great value' by 3D Radar.

Sony's 3D glasses, available with all 3D televisions were also applauded by '3D Radar' for being 'unusually comfortable and light shielding', a key consideration when buying a 3D TV when light intruding from the side of the glasses can ruin the viewing experience.

In an endeavour to add even more value to the 3D BRAVIA range in the Middle East, Sony is now offering exceptional multimedia bundles including 3D-enabled Sony Home Theatre systems or 3D-enabled Blu-ray players and 3D movies or games.

The models are available at all Jumbo Electronics' outlets and across the stores of other major electronics retailers. .
