-VPL-CX5 & VPL-CS5 business projectors offer best in their class-
Strong and powerful visual communications are clearly the order of the day in the corporate world. In fact, worldwide forecasts reveal that the projector market will grow by 26% in 2002 and continue an annual growth of 18% through 2006. A veteran in this field, Sony – the worldwide leader for business projects - has captured 14% market share in the MEA region, one which is expected to be the largest for business projectors this year.
The fast-growing business environment and an increasing number of business professionals on the move has resulted in the rising demand for quality mobile communication solutions in the Middle East – a vital component of Sony’s EMEA region. To feed this demand, Sony Broadcast and Professional is introducing its latest business projectors at Gitex 2002, the VPL-CS5 and VPL-CX5, which combine brightness, “smart” set-up technology in a compact, ‘go-anywhere’ package and eye-catching styling.
“Making the right impression with a powerful and attractive presentation is a core part of any business communications strategy,” said Phil Slack, Divisional Director Sony Broadcast and Professional Middle East and Africa. “This trend is being very quickly recognized throughout all the region’s business hubs, and Sony is set to reflect its dominance in the global market in the Middle East too.”
With a sleek design and exceptional ease of use, the VPL-CS5 and VPL-CX5 add a professional edge to any presentation. Possibly one of the most attractive features is the auto set-up function, which sees the projector automatically adjusting its APA (Auto pixel Alignment) , digital keystone, and automatically searching and selecting the input.
Weighing just 2.7 kg, both projectors can be shared between office departments, classrooms or used on the road. Compact enough to be slipped into the supplied travel bag, each delivers superb pictures that outclass other larger, more expensive projectors.
The VPL-CS5 offers a generous 1800 ANSI lumens at SVGA resolution to bring text and graphics to life in bright, vivid colour, while the VPL-CX5 packs an even more impressive 2000 ANSI lumens at XGA resolution for unparalleled picture detail and clarity – even in daylight conditions.
Automatic source selection guarantees near-instant connection with virtually any PC, DVD player or other audio-visual source, and both projectors simplify set-up dramatically with the help of an array of “smart” features which ensure true picture geometry, as soon as the projectors are switched on.
The VPL-CX5 accepts Memory Stick™ storage media, allowing Microsoft PowerPoint files, digital still images and even MPEG video clips to be displayed without the need for a PC or connecting cables. The integrated amplifier and loudspeaker, 4 times digital picture zoom and freeze/picture muting functions, further enhance presentations. The supplied remote commander’s mini joystick doubles as a wireless “mouse” to control a USB-equipped PC. Both projectors come supplied with a handy carry case, remote commander and cabling. The VPL‑CX5 also includes an 8Mb Memory Stick and Projector Station software (on CD-ROM).
“Teaming great user features, intelligent-set-up and compact packaging, the CS5 and CX5 are head and shoulders above anything else in their class. Furthermore they have been positioned at a price point, which will make them an attractive addition to any classrooms, training facilities or boardrooms–– and the star performer for all business people on the road.” Mr. Slack concluded.
