In line with Barclays strategy to attract the best banking talents and in continuation of its strong pursuit to promote women to the leading roles across the organisation, Barclays Egypt has recently announced the return of Soha El-Turky - who served as Barclays Chief Financial Officer in Egypt from the year 2008 to2012 to assume the role of Business Development Director starting (September 2015)

Commenting on El-Turky's repatriation after three years of significant success at Barclays PLC in London, Tarek Elrefai, General Manager and Interim Managing Director of Barclays Bank Egypt, said that Barclays Egypt is committed to encouraging females to assume executive positions, particularly those who have successful track records marked by major achievements within various positions like Soha.

"Soha's come back is a real addition to the bank.  I am very confident that her vast expertise and outstanding performance will boost growth in the business sector over the coming period and help support the bank's strategic goals," Elrefai added.

El-Turky's new assignment entails a number of responsibilities, including strategy development, strengthening the bank's competitive ability in light of rapid changes in the banking sector and leading the innovation strategy that serves customers locally and internationally.

About Soha El-Turky Career History:
Soha joined Barclays Bank Egypt in 2008 as the Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board of Directors, a position she held for four years. Her success in this role enabled her to join Barclays UK in 2013.  In 2014, she was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Corporate Bank, where she was responsible for the financial management of a global business with more than 1 million clients spanning various geographies and generating approximately £ 3.6 billion in income.  Soha was also a member of the Corporate Bank Executive Committee and the Personal and Corporate Banking CFO Executive Committee.
