HE Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director General of Dubai Health Authority and President of Society of Engineers - UAE signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Association of Mechatronics in the presence of various members and representatives of the Government of Sicily. The MOU aims to link the channel of communication between the two associations and to promote the joint cooperation in the field of sustainability for the development of the engineering sector and the profession. Engineer Essa Al Maidoor said that the plan of joint cooperation will diversify the field of conservation and the reduction of consumption through IT support, solar energy and power generation, which represents a real opportunity to invest in them for its high levels of availability in the UAE and the Gulf Region in addition to the support and promotion of the latest water treatment technologies in order to conserve natural resources and protect the environment in order to achieve sustainable development .
Engineer Essa also stated, "The Society of Engineers - UAE will play a leading role in supporting the sustainability initiatives and the conservation of natural resources, from its position as a regulatory and official body of the engineering sector in the country and its strategic ties with the international engineering organizations, leads in the exchange of experiences, transfer of knowledge and improving the engineering sector by adopting the latest and best global standards. This memorandum will be an important step in attracting international expertise and encourage an environmentally friendly networking, which the Society of Engineers - UAE will work closely with the Association of Mechatronics to qualify engineers in the field of alternative energy and to develop their abilities and expertise to keep pace with the latest global development by organizing events , conferences and exhibitions to update them on the newest research , innovations and techniques in the field of sustainability and alternative energy solutions ".
On the other hand, Engineer Antonino Mineo, President of the Association of Mechatronics in Sicily said, "The importance of signing this agreement with the Society of Engineers - UEA will create a milestone success in providing awareness in sustainability and the importance of engineering because of their expertise and technical capabilities, specializing in all areas of engineering as well as its global expertise in the field of sustainability and its role in developing the capabilities of engineers through organizing variety of activities, locally and internationally". He also said that this agreement will open up many opportunities for joint cooperation in order to achieve progress and prosperity in the engineering sector.
A plaque of appreciation was presented to each President of the two associations and the event was concluded with high anticipations that the MOU will be very well executed which will provide best engineering practices in sustainability an engineering in the UAE.
