In the framework of the cooperation between Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA", and Ministry of Interior represented in Nationality and Travel Documents Department, the department opened a temporary office at KM2- 10th floor to issue smart ID cards for KAHRAMAA Qatari staff.

Lieutenant Ahmad Hassan Al-Mawlawy said that the smart ID card is valid for ten years from the date of issue. Other than identity verification, the card has an access to electronic services presented by Ministry of Interior including residence package (i.e. residence visa issuance, renewal, cancellation, and reactivation), separate dependant from a passport, sponsorship transfer, travel permits, lost driving license replace and license renewal in addition to other package of services delivered by the e-government.

The card can be used to pass electronic gates at Doha International Airport and borders crossings.

Al-Mawlawy explained that applicant should only present current ID, and the department on its part takes applicants' photo, eye and forefinger prints. Charges average between QR 100-700 according to package delivered.

On his part KAHRAMAA Public Relations Department Manager Eng. Nasser Ali Al-Mohannadi said, "This service shows the joint cooperation between KAHRAMAA and Ministry of Interior on one hand and proves the great development department services witnesses".

"The smart ID card is one of the services the department presents to facilitate measures for citizens and residents" he added.

Al-Mohannadi expressed his gratitude to Nationality and Travel Documents Department for their efforts exerts for the welfare of KAHRAMAA staff.

Eng. Al-Mohannadi invited all KAHRAMAA staff to avail themselves of this service by issuing the smart ID.
