More than 650 people were estimated to have flocked to the new Chef's House restaurant at Radisson SAS Hotel Dubai Media City throughout last week, keen to sample the national gastronomic delights of the 'Tasty Singapore Food Festival', prepared live by Singapore's internationally renowned celebrity chef, Violet Oon.
Visitors to the opening were thrilled with the quality of uniquely Singaporean dishes, washed down with a cool Tiger Beer, "That was one of the most incredible and authentic Singaporean chilli crabs I have ever tasted in my life, especially in Dubai. The dishes that Violet Oon was preparing and presenting were really innovative- and of course what better to accompany this spread than Tiger beers chilled to just the right temperature," commented 34 year old Navanita Roy.
The 'Tasty Singapore Food Festival' was brought to Dubai by Tiger Beer, the Singapore Tourism Board, and International Enterprise Singapore, following the success of the recent Tiger Beer Singapore Chilli Crab Festival, in Dubai.
"I had a fantastic gastronomical experience of Singapore at the Saturday brunch at Radisson SAS Media City, and Tiger Beer was the perfect complement to the Asian buffet," added Lee Mancini, 30.
Singaporean celebrity chef, Violet Oon, oversaw the promotion, which ran at the newly opened restaurant, Chef's House, at the Radisson SAS Hotel Dubai Media City from 17th-22nd March, preparing authentic Singaporean meals and evening buffet dinners, which finished with a gourmet set-menu dinner on March 22nd.
"The overall response was extremely positive, the restaurant was full to capacity every night, and the standard of food and service was exceptional." Said Marek Zahorec, Assistant Restaurant Manager, Radisson SAS Hotel Dubai Media City, "some Singaporeans came all the way from Abu Dhabi just to taste the authentic Singaporean cuisine, and they didn't leave disappointed."
Diners were able to sample a wide variety of Singaporean delicacies from the buffet and what better refreshment to accompany this feast than Tiger Beer, Singapore's best selling beer and the leading premium beer brand in South East Asia?
"Tiger Beer was thrilled to support this exciting event in Dubai, which gave residents here an authentic taste of the most popular flavours of Singapore, presented in a distinctly Singaporean way," said Anamika Kumar, Brand Manager for Tiger Beer in the Middle East. "Tiger Beer perfectly complements all Asian cuisine and this event was a wonderful opportunity for people in Dubai to discover some of the best Singaporean food and drink right here on their doorstep."
"With most of the ingredients and flavours used at the food festival being products of leading food manufacturers in Singapore, we have presented the most authentic flavours of Singapore foods to an international audience. IE Singapore will be actively promoting Singapore food products to the UAE market in the coming year and hopefully, we will see more Singaporean foods available here very soon." Said Wong Peng Yeong, IE Singapore's Centre Director in Dubai.
Ke-Wei Peh, Area Director Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board, added "Singapore boasts an extensive range of dining experiences all year round, from indulgent gourmet meals to affordable hawker fare, alongside world-class dining events such as the exclusive World Gourmet Summit in April, and the annual celebration of the colourful Singaporean cuisine - the Singapore Food Festival. We were therefore pleased to be a part of the 'Tasty Singapore Food Festival' at the newly launched Chef's House as it provided a great opportunity to sample some of Singapore's favourite dishes, prepared by renowned food guru Violet Oon."
