Bilingual site incorporates advanced, mobile-friendly design features, integrated information feeds
Doha, Qatar, January 21, 2012 - Qatar-based Silatech has announced the launch of the organization's new Web platform, found at www.silatech.com. In addition to frequent news updates and general information about Silatech, the bilingual platform contains detailed information about Silatech projects ongoing in 11 countries throughout the region, as well as knowledge resources of particular value to researchers, media and policy makers.
Silatech is a social initiative that works to create jobs and expand economic opportunities for young people throughout the Arab world.
According to Silatech Director of Communications Stephen Brannon, "Anyone who is interested in issues related to youth employment, engagement and entrepreneurship in the Arab world should be able to find something useful on the Silatech Web platform."
He continued: "Young people and potential partners can learn details about our projects and programs throughout the region and how they might take part in them, while policy makers, media and the research community will benefit from Silatech research and multimedia, as well as from external content related to the regional youth ecosystem."
Designed and built by Virtue Solutions, the Silatech platform uses Responsive Web Design, an innovative approach that allows content to be displayed optimally on a wide variety of browsers, smartphones, tablets and other devices without the need to manage separate mobile sites.
The site also provides an integrated platform for Silatech's social media channels, as well as "Ecosystem News," a news and information gathering system developed by Meltwater Group. The service collects news stories related to entrepreneurship, youth employment, SME investment and microfinance, and feeds them directly into the Silatech site to provide added value for site visitors.
The site (www.silatech.com) is currently available in English and Arabic, with plans to add a French language site within the first half of 2013.
