Siemens will showcase its full range of integrated building technology solutions for the protection of businesses, people, assets and facilities at Intersec 2016 in Dubai.
This year, Siemens is highlighting fire protection at Intersec, focusing on its portfolio of technologies for fire safety that improve resource and cost control across simple and complex environments.
The company's portfolio delivers the highest levels of comfort, efficiency, safety and security for customer facilities, by ensuring optimum system performance over the lifecycle of a building, whether a mall, hotel, university, data center, office building or industrial environment.
"Fire protection is a significant market for us in the Middle East. It is important that a tailored solution is engineered to suit each customer's environment, whether it is a historic building, a data center, a hotel or an industrial facility. We are able to address unique and complex environmental requirements, and tie them into a smart, total building management solution for efficient control and monitoring," said Koen Bogers, Senior Executive Vice President, Building Technologies, Siemens Middle East and UAE.
A highlight at the show will be Siemens' single-source solution tailored for data centers. Data centers play a central role in the modern, global economy and are considered by analysts as the factories of the 21st century. Noise reduction is a key component of data center functionality, and Siemens has a unique technology for silent fire extinguishing; an innovative and reliable fire-protection solution which uses silent nozzles to prevent damage to hard disks in the event of a system activation.
Siemens is also showing its solutions for building management systems, including the Desigo CC integrated building management platform. The platform provides facility managers and building occupants with real-time information for every aspect of a property and building portfolios from a central location, enabling them to make practical and timely decisions to safeguard their people and assets, and streamline resource use and costs. It is also able to integrate and control all systems regardless of manufacturer, making it a valuable technology for both retro-fit and new construction.
"There is growing appetite for smart building management and security technology in the region, and we are increasingly starting to see building management concepts integrated at the planning stage of a development. Bringing together every element of a building that needs to be monitored or controlled - from plumbing and lighting to security cameras and access control - into one intelligent building management system has tremendous efficiency advantages," said Bogers.
Safety and security software is also a key focus for Siemens at Intersec. The company's Desigo Mass Notification system is uniquely positioned for multichannel communication management, and the Siemens Siveillance portfolio includes everything from video management to advanced video analytics and command and control for critical infrastructure and corporations.
Intersec, which runs from January 17 - 19, is considered an important part of the conference calendar in the MENA region attracting a wide range of prominent exhibitors engaged in Commercial Security, Information Security, Fire & Rescue, Safety & Health and Homeland Security & Policing.
