Sales and Traffic increases manifold

As the summer blazes in Dubai, shopping malls have been transformed into buzzing centers of activity for children. While Modhesh mania sweeps Dubai's malls, shopping has become the flavour of the month. With Sale Banners across all malls, the season to shop stretches endlessly in Dubai.

Participating in DSS activities and shopping seem to go hand in hand for many families visiting Dubai's luxurious malls.

Mr. Eisa Adam Ibrahim, President of DSMG, said: "The "Win a Dream" is the biggest-ever promotion to be run by the Dubai Shopping Malls Group. As the premier promotion of DSS, the "Win A Dream" is designed to further enrich the rewarding shopping experience that Dubai offers residents and visitors during this DSS."

The unbeatable prize package which is being given away during this promotion includes a superb apartment, a weekly prize that allows a large number of shoppers to win something memorable during the 10 weeks of fun and excitement in Dubai.

The promotion features two draws a week. DSS shoppers spending Dh200 at any of the participating mall are entitled to a coupon that  is  entered into the two weekly draws - the first weekly draw offers a Mitsubishi Pajero while the winner of the second draw receives a gift hamper from Paris Gallery worth Dh10,000.

The same coupon is then  entered at the grand draw for a "dream prize" package consisting of a luxurious apartment at Jumeirah Beach Residence plus a Mitsubishi Pajero and a watch from an international brand worth Dh70,000, courtesy Paris Gallery.

The last four weeks of DSS  has witnessed a good increase in sales, as well as visitor traffic.

Jocelyn McBride, Marketing Manager, Wafi Mall said, "Dubai Summer Surprises has given us exceptional results, both in terms of traffic, as well as sales. This summer, besides our usual customers, we have been able to attract new target segments to the mall. The DSS events at the mall add a completely new perspective to the mall."

Says Rebecca Arnold, Marketing Manager, Mercato and Town Centre, "Once again, we haven overwhelmed by the response to the sales and events that are taking place in Mercato, Highlights such as the Jumeirah International Giant Charity Cake Sale and the Summer Fruits Day attracted families  from all over Dubai, giving them even more reasons to visit their favourite mall."

Mr. Moussa Al Hayek, General Manager, Al Bustan Centre said, "We are witnessing huge number of visitors from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait. The trend of these families coming to Dubai is now well established.  We expect the numbers to increase especially in the month of August.  The workshops and shows are particularly attractive to families with younger children."

Taher Al Ramahy, Marketing Manager, Hamarain Centre, "Dubai Summer Surprises has helped us to boost our sales.  With every successive week, the numbers are steadily increasing. The GCC families are coming to the mall in large numbers, given our proximity to Marriott hotel. It has been an exciting time for all of us, and the event definitely keeps us on our toes."

DSMG, a founder key sponsor of DSS, is an umbrella organisation dedicated to the growth and prosperity of malls in Dubai that was set up in 1997 under the patronage of the Dubai Department of Economic Development. The 21 member malls of the DSMG that are  participating in the DSS promotion are: Al Bustan Centre, Al Ghurair City, Al Khaleej Centre, Al Mamzar Centre, Al Manal Centre, Al Mulla Plaza, Al Musallah Towers, Bin Sougat Centre, BurJuman Centre, Deira City Centre, Hamarain  Centre, Karama Centre, Lamcy Plaza, Mazaya Centre, Mercato, Palm Strip Mall, Twin Towers, Wafi City, Century Mall, Oasis Mall and The Village.
