The Sheraton Deira Hotel & Towers located in the heart of Dubai, is Starwood`s closest property to the Dubai International Airport and one of Dubai's well kept secrets. A strong focus was acknowledged by the Sheraton management and supported by the local owners Mohammed Omar Bin Haider Group, for a radical refurbishment of the Sheraton Deira Hotel & Towers, as it was deemed necessary to keep abreast with today's mushrooming deluxe hotels.
With a combination of well-appointed 224 rooms which are going through the first phase of few recent soft refurbishments in room dcor including parquet floors by Berry Floors, new upholstery including bed linen, installation of electronic key card system and all the five-star facilities expected from today's business and leisure travellers.
The renovation is a result of all those many patrons over the last 9 years who have voiced their opinion for changes on the different areas of the hotels facets, says Josef Sorger, general manager of the hotel. Further he adds that ' as a branch of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, we do care what our customers think of us or anticipate and so 'voice of customer' is given paramount importance.
The major revamping includes fitting new wall - to - wall corridor carpet on all the 5 floors as well as carpeting the Al Massah ballroom which is on-going and this project was assigned to In and Out Concepts. The hotels 178 rooms and 46 suites flooring will be converted by a full length 'parquet' by Berry Floors and the entrance corridor of each guest room will be further enhanced by ceramic tiles. The exterior, interiors and guest rooms will receive a new brush of colour, including an entire change in upholstery, which should be completed with in the next few months. Furthermore the guest rooms undergo refurbishments in complete upholstery from curtains to sofas with fine fabrics enhancing the coziness of a room. The bed linen including duvets and pillows have also been replaced with fire retardant fabrics, in keeping with the Starwood specifications. The hotel has also introduced the electronic locking system for every guest room. Tessa the worlds leading supplier of hotel locking system has been selected for it's individual locking system solution. This locking system ensures that our valuable guests' are assured of feeling safe and secure when sleeping away from home.
The other areas included in the renovation is the Lindbergh's Bar on the 5th floor, The Terrace restaurant and the Le Caf both situated in the lobby level also receive a new look whereby the sofas and cushions in these areas will be upholstered. A perfect blending in aesthetic sense of tranquility is planned to be achieved with the overall interior ambience.
Owing to the willing support from MOBH, the Sheraton Deira Hotel & Towers will soon gain its new look in the market and the final completion on the revamping will take place by September 2005 adds Josef Sorger.
