Shell Oman has launched a mega promotion to coincide with the start of summer. Customers have a chance to win five Toyota Corollas (one per draw, where the first car is dedicated towards public awarness on traffic saftey tips during the GCC Traffic Week) on purchase of a four-litre pack. Each draw coupon has a chance of winning in all the subsequent draws. The promotion runs until 9 June 2002. An interesting feature of the promotion is that it works to raise customer awareness about the three different variations of motor oil that Shell Helix offers.  

Shell Helix (in the red pack) is a high quality mineral oil suitable for most standard saloon cars. Customers who buy Shell Helix are eligible for one draw coupon. Shell Helix Plus (in the blue pack) is a semi-synthetic oil that provides advanced protection for more powerful engines and in difficult driving conditions. It is recommended for newer and four-wheel-drive vehicles. Purchase of Shell Helix Plus entitles a customer to three draw coupons. Shell Helix Ultra (in the grey pack) is a fully synthetic motor oil, created with Formula I technology to protect the high-performance engines of sports and luxury cars. Every purchase of Shell Helix Ultra brings the customer six draw coupons.

They are blended and packed locally at the Company's own Lubricants Blending Plant, the only one of its kind in the Sultanate.
