Dubai: During her recent visit to the Expo 2020 site, Sheikha Jawaher Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Sheikha Jawaher Al Khalifa Foundation for Youth Empowerment, acknowledged the efforts of the UAE government for the progress made so far in regards to EXPO 2020.

Sheikha Jawaher used the opportunity to discuss avenues that can encourage empowerment of the youth and enhance their role in media, scientific and cultural domains.

During the visit, she toured different Expo 2020 booths and stands and attended a briefing on the latest developments carried out by the Expo administration. Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau Executive Director, Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali along with Sheikha Jawaher and officials from the Art Format Lab discussed the increasing involvement of youth in the Expo 2020 and how they can benefit through this participation.

Sheikha Khalifa also highlighted the significance of developing youth empowerment media and social programs. To ensure effective participation, she suggested increasing the number of Digital platforms that educate the youth about the activities and events of the Expo 2020.

“The youth of today embody hard work and perseverance striving hard to achieve success,” Sheikha Jawaher said. “When invited to Expo 2020, the youth are exposed to a unique global experience and a sea of opportunities.”

 “Today, our youth act with responsibility and have everything it takes to be a part of a global event like Expo 2020 which can utilise their ideas and translate them into action,” Sheikha Khalifa added.

Khulud Abu Homos, Chief Executive Officer of Art Format Lab, said that the visit aligned with the company’s efforts to develop youth empowerment practical frameworks that strengthen their role by allowing them to take part in the success of important local and international projects and events.

Expo 2020 will be launched the coming year in October and will last till April 2021. 192 countries will participate in the event– the largest number in the Expo history.
