The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), in cooperation with "See Sharjah", recently organized an introductory lecture for staff on the new industrial E-portal "See Sharjah Industrial", which will be launched early in 2011.
The lecture, which was held at SEDD's headquarters in the presence of a large number of officials and employees, was chaired by Heballah Habib, Director of "See Sharjah", and focused on the advantages of electronic industrial and commercial promotions and marketing.
Speaking on the occasion, HE Ali bin Salem Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, said: "This lecture is one of a series of lectures scheduled as part of our cooperation and strategic partnership with "See Sharjah". We look forward to enhancing this partnership through further cooperative initiatives, which will reflect positively on the various economic sectors in the emirate of Sharjah. Among others, SEDD makes educated economic decisions, provides training to employees, and organizes lectures that aim to serve the interests of clients while regulating the market.
"The "See Sharjah Industrial" E-portal, which is being developed as an industrial search engine, is intended to keep up with online development by providing information online and offering updated and secure results regarding the industrial sector and products in Sharjah," he added.
Habib spoke on the importance of the industrial E-Portal, saying that it will contain the first comprehensive directory for products manufactured in Sharjah, as well as advanced search tools that will help connect suppliers with manufacturers. The portal will also offer directories for the industrial areas and free zones along with an industrial information guide.
Habib said that the portal will act as a comprehensive guide for both the government and private sector and will promote the industrial sector and its related activities on local and international levels.
The easy to use portal will feature high speed access and will be provided with advanced and accurate search tools, and searches can be based on name, address, product, services, brand, etc. The portal will also have dedicated spaces for promoting industrial events and activities, as well as for promoting offers and discounts.
Additional features include the option for online shopping, the introduction of a company's products, services and brands, and a state of the art map designed in an innovative and unprecedented manner, linked with various databases and provided with independent search tools.
In conclusion, Habib pointed to the great development potential of the E-portal, and how it will lead to various benefits that will cover all the economic sectors in Sharjah.
